LDS CHURCH - FREE SITES

Family Tree (an upgrade to new.FamilySearch) is an application that allows you to collaborate with others to build, share, manage, and preserve your family history online. It uses the same database that was  used with new.FamilySearch.org. Additional data is added every day.

How To Use Family Tree Wisely

Family Search is the newest family history site for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Records of all kinds from all over the world are being digitized and indexed by volunteers (see “indexing” if you’d like to help out) and are added here on a regular basis.

RECORDS: Put in your ancestor’s name and records for births, marriages, deaths, probate, land, military, etc. will appear. Or, go to the bottom of the page and find location for many historical records collections.

TREES: Search by name, for the collected records of New Family Search, the IGI, Ancestral File, and Pedigree Resource file. (Plus a link to the 1940 U. S. Census.)

CATALOG: Access the LDS family history library – microfilm, books, etc.

BOOKS: Digitized books, magazines, periodicals, medieval books and more contributed from leading family history libraries in the U.S. Read them here!

WIKI: Scroll down to “Featured Articles.” Under the photos, choose from “Popular,” “Random” or “Archived” articles.
